Responsibilities

  • Carefully examining engine components for any defects or damage before they are placed in lay-up storage.
  • Recording all inspection findings, including any non-conformances, and ensuring that the parts are properly labeled and tracked for storage.
  • Following established procedures and standards for preparing and storing parts, including those related to corrosion prevention and  environmental control.

Qualifications

  • Candidate must have 3 years practical experience performing in-process and final inspections on complex machined parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies.
  • The inspections will be performed to engineering requirements specified per ANSI Y14.5 – Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) or equivalent standard.
  • Must have the ability to read / interpret engineering drawings and Purchase Orders (POs).
  • The candidate must have experience using various mechanical inspection tools, such as micrometers, calipers, pin gauges, thread gauges height gauges, CMM, and hardness testers.
  • Ability to carefully and thoroughly examine parts for even minor imperfections.Verifying tight tolerances (tenths)
  • Ability to accurately and concisely document inspection findings.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with other members of the team.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and standards related to parts storage and handling. 
  • Candidate should be computer savvy and own a laptop for this assignment.
  • Will be working as an independent contractor (1099).
  • Must have LLC/DBA or able to obtain an LLC/DBA within 90 days.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
