Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Quality Engineer to support our onsite operations for a 9-month contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) and 8D analysis on process failures, developing inspection checklists, and supporting the creation of inspection plans for prototype machined parts, subassemblies, and assemblies. This role also involves managing conforming and non-conforming stock, auditing compliance to inspection plans and QMS standards while supporting day to day tactical inspection requirements and coordination of all teams, including the external FAI reviewers to report status on all FAI's.
Key Responsibilites:
- Perform RCCA and 8D analysis on process failures.
- Develop and implement inspection checklists.
- Support the creation of inspection plans for prototype machined parts, subassemblies, and assemblies.
- Manage conforming and non-conforming stock.
- Audit compliance with inspection plans.
- Support inspection efforts and testing as required.
- Coordinate with the FAI processing team for submission turnbacks and approval status of FAI packages.
- Compile all FAI documentation.
- Support day-to-day tracking of project activities to ensure on-time delivery of units.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Quality Engineer or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of RCCA, 8D, and quality management systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
- Expertise in conducting First Article Reviews and AS9102 Rev B Standards
- Strong understanding of aerospace quality standards (AS9100, ISO 9001).
- Skilled in using precision measuring tools and equipment; such as micrometers, calipers, pin gauges, thread gauges height gauges, CMM, and hardness testers.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

- Certification in Quality Management (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO 9001).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around manufacturing and inspection areas for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and handle objects up to [Insert Weight] pounds as needed during inspections.
- Fine motor skills for handling precision measuring tools and delicate components.
- Adequate vision (with or without corrective lenses) to read detailed engineering drawings and perform close inspections.
- Ability to work in manufacturing environments, including exposure to noise, dust, and temperature variations.
