*** Software Quality Assurance Engineer (Defence) ***
We are seeking an experienced Software Quality Assurance Engineer to support a program where we need to deploy someone at a customer facility in Luton (Mon to Fri). The role will be based across of a range of Products, and will work directly with engineering teams and with our customers project teams and customers.
Responsibilities:
- Provide independent software assurance support to the development and release of software, verifying it is in accordance with the contracted and company standards.
- Create and maintain software quality assurance plans in accordance with contractual conditions and company standards.
- Assess the ability of subcontracted companies to perform software development to required standards.
- Assess projects for compliance with software development plans and processes.
- Participate in software lifecycle reviews.
- Performing software conformity reviews and physical/functional configuration audits.
- Verify the release of deliverable software.
Background and Experience:
- Knowledge and practical experience of software quality.
- Further education and experience ideally in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or experience in Defence Electronics or similarly "complex" industry.
- Be a logical thinker, capable of translating complex data into actions with practical solutions that supports business goals.
- Have good interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style across all functions of the business.
- Preferably have demonstrated experience working in high precision manufacturing environment.
- An Airborne software background, with good working knowledge of software standards RTCA/DO-178C, AS9115, and AQAP-2210 highly advantageous, but not essential.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be a UK National due to security restrictions.
- Ideally holds UK SC Level or above Security Clearance
- Ideally be in commutable distance of Luton or willing to fund staying locally to be on-site Monday to Friday.
Contract:
This role falls inside IR35 and requires engagement through an umbrella company.
