Position:

CMM Programmer / Operator / Inspector

 

Location: 

Mountain View, CA

 

Duration: 

6 month contract (minimum with extensions per need of the project)

 

Frequency:

9x80 schedule (week 1 M-F; 9 hours = 45 hours / week 2 M-W; 9 hours, Thurs 8 hours, Friday off = 35 hours). 

 

Compensation: 

$37-39 per hour (D.O.E.)

 

Job Description:
The quality inspector to perform visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies.  Parts will be inspected to engineering drawings, customer purchase order(s), industry standards, and specifications.  The inspector will be required to report inspection accept / reject information directly to the customer via web application. 

Requirements:
Candidate must have practical experience performing in-process and final inspections on complex machined parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies. The inspections will be performed to engineering requirements specified per ANSI Y14.5 – Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) or equivalent standard.  Must have the ability to read / interpret engineering drawings and Purchase Orders (POs). The candidate must have experience using various mechanical inspection tools, such as micrometers and calipers.  Experience performing First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance to the AS9102 standard and knowledge is required.  Ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years experience performing inspections in aerospace or military / defense manufacturing with proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel. Candidate should be computer savvy and own a laptop for this assignment. 

 

Required Skillset of Individual:

  • Ability to program and operate CMM equipment (PCDMIS), including traditional CMM coordinate machine and portable CMM arm with minimal to no supervision.
  • Parts will be composite and metallic
  • Ability to create and run programs for CMM equipment using PC-DMIS software.
  • Attention to detail to support organizing CMM Programs in a logical, methodical manner.
  • Understanding of developing  process documentation.
  • Ability to initiate Nonconformance Document when defects are found.
  • Ability to collaborate with others to work through problems encountered.
  • Ability to update work orders, as required, to account for work performed.
  • Team player attitude with an ability to collaborate with multiple functions and peers.
  • In-depth level of GD&T concepts
  • Ability to interpret Blueprints and translate them into CMM programs

Bonus Skill:

  • Experience using the Hexagon Absolute Arm RA8 v3
  • Experience using the Hexagon CMM SF 7.10.7
